Update - our project is completed.  A very big thank you to all our sponsors and supporters.

Over the last couple of years, Duffus Tennis Club has undertaken a successful fundraising campaign, raising £148,238 to enable us to upgrade this much loved public amenity – installing new, all-weather artificial grass courts which are hard-wearing and will last for many years. We are delighted that the work on the courts will start on Monday 8th November.

The project includes laying a new TigerTurf Advantage PRO artificial grass surface, installing new post sockets and nets, replacing the chainlink fencing, installing a new double gate, installing a third set of floodlights and upgrading the lights to LED. The work will be undertaken by specialist company SPORTEX and will take place in two phases. Phase 1 will take place before Christmas when the courts will be dug up, the fencing completed, most of the lighting work done, and the new asphalt base laid. Lines will be painted on this surface to allow some tennis to be played over the winter. Phase 2 will be in the new year, before the season starts with the new carpet will be laid and the floodlighting finalised.

Funders

Duffus Tennis Club is very grateful to the funding bodies, sponsors and members, including former members, for their commitment and contributions to our project. Major funding from Fife Environment Trust, Landfill Operator Highland Council through the Scottish Landfill Communities Fund, National Lottery Awards for all, The Benzies Foundation, The Northwood Charitable Trust set us on our way towards our goal. Local Fife grants from the Cupar Common Good Fund, N E Fife Planning Budget and Fife Charities Trust were much appreciated, as were donations from locally based The Callange Trust, The Bruce Charitable Trust, Howe of Fife Rotary Club. Local sponsors who have very kindly and generously supported the project are Steven Stewart Funeral Directors, Henderson Black Accountants, James Hair & Co, Accountants, Red Star Property Rentals and Tesco Community Grant.

A very generous legacy from Giff Mentiply, who is so fondly remembered by many members, really helped us towards our target. And a big heartfelt thankyou to those members who kindly responded to the request for donations, which helped us to get over the final hurdle to ensure we could undertake the project.

We look forward to welcoming everyone, whatever ability, age or fitness to our fantastic, state of the art facility in the future!

This is why we need new courts!  After heavy rain, the water on the courts no longer drains away and the courts can be out of action for several days.😒
